Success Stories From Patterson Dental
During the first couple of Skill Drill sessions the Branch Manages were saying; 'If we could just have a Commitment Objective for every call, Action Selling would pay for itself.' Now that we are further into the sessions, I hear, 'When can we get our Territory Managers trained on Action Selling.'

During the most recent Skill Drills session, the Branch Managers were asked to share some real success stories. Some Branch Managers said things like; 'I have been doing this all wrong . . . I remember meeting with large practices and never asking them one question and then wondered why we never got to the next step.'

The following are a few examples of success stories that I heard:

Louis Fruehauf - Used TFBR's to obtain the business. We were presenting to a new office opportunity. During Act 3 they told us that having a single-source provider was important. Later in the conversation, Act 6, our competition came up. We were able to tie back the capability and benefits of being the only true single-source provider and we gained commitment (Act 7) to be his single source provider.

Neal McFadden - Took away business from the competition by 'Asking the Best Questions'. Dr. Andy Butcher was intending to work with the competitor on his new office. I went to visit him and asked Open-Ended Questions as to why he was leaning that way. I discovered that he preferred a tech from a competitor. I questioned the reasons and determined that he did not like one of our technicians. I told him that we have several qualified techs with better skills that he can choose from. If I hadn't asked Open-Ended Questions, I would have lost this deal. Thank you Action Selling! As a result of my questions and our ability to satisfy his needs . . . he agreed to work with Patterson.

Dan Niehoff - TFBR's close the sale and shorten the sales cycle. While visiting with an oral surgeon I used the TFBR technique taught in Action Selling. It helped me close the deal and shorten the sales cycle. The Doctor felt as though we listened to him, understood and created a unique solution to his problem. Action Selling really helped.

JR Kitchens - Taking business away from the competition. Dr. Newsome had purchased a competitor's product but needed an integrated solution. On the call I used TFBR's to develop the need for integration. Then I convinced her to return the competitor's system and purchase from me. We are able to be more confident and competitive with Action Selling.

Michael Brack - Handled a price objection. Dr. Brackett was considering buying digital from another distributor due to price. He is currently an Eaglesoft user so I used a TFBR to defeat the price objection; 'Dr. Brackett you said that support is important to you. The competitor will not support images reviewed in Eaglesoft, their software will not tie into images reviewed in Eaglesoft and their software will not tie into the patients chart.' Dr. Brackett bought Scanex from Patterson.

Renata Jebuka - Coaching Territory Managers with Action Selling. I am using Action Selling to help me change the mindset of experienced reps. They now see other, more effective ways of winning business.

Trevor Long - Using the entire AS process to sell CEREC. Last week I was able to apply TFBR's when presenting CEREC to one of our local doctors. The demonstration went very well and as a result of the Action Selling process . . . Knowing what questions to ask and how to utilize TFBR's to drive home his needs by emphasizing features, benefits and asking a reaction question. I am happy to say that the doctor has purchased a CEREC! This stuff works!
